This is just a list of movies I like, broken down by genre. I'm undecided on whether or not I want to list movies multiple times if they're in multiple genres, in case anybody is skipping around to look at only the genres they're interested in. For now, movies are only listed in one genre. ★ = Favorite/Highly Recommend.

  • Chicago (2002) | Dir. Rob Marshall | Notes: It's technically a comedy, I think. I loooove Chicago, it's definitely in my top films. Only musical I actively enjoy as well. ★

  • Fantasia (1940) | Dir. Samuel Armstrong | Notes: I think I was the only child who enjoyed this. I watched it over and over too. Probably contributed to me wanting to be an animator. I dropped out of art school though. ★

Horror

  • Beyond the Gates (2016) | Dir. Jackson Stewart | Notes: Not a masterpiece by any means, but definitely a lot of fun.
  • Jeepers Creepers (2001) | Dir. Victor Salva | Notes: Not a great movie, but it's very entertaining
  • My Bloody Valentine (1981) | Dir. George Mihalka | Notes: Love this movie so much. I love a good slasher, unfortunately. ★
  • Night of the Living Dead (1968) | Dir. George A. Romero | Notes: An absolute favorite film of mine. ★
  • Popcorn (1991) | Dir. Mark Herrier | Notes: Saw this at a small theater that shows bad horror movies once a month. This is definitely really bad. It was awesome
  • Psycho (1960) | Dir. Alfred Hitchcock | Notes: Another favorite of mine ★
  • Scream (1996) | Dir. Wes Craven | Notes: Definitely in my top 5 horror films. ★
  • Shutter (2004) | Dir Parkpoom Wongpoom, Banjong Posanthanakun | Notes: Excellent horror movie. I absolutely adore this film and it's sad that most people have never seen it. ★
  • The Babysitter (2017) | Dir. McG | Notes: I enjoy a good horror comedy
  • The Ring (2002) | Dir. Gore Verbinski | Notes: Only good remake I've ever seen
  • The Shining (1980) | Dir. Stanley Kubrick | Notes: N/A ★
  • The Witch (2015) | Dir. Robert Eggers | Notes: Incredible film, another one that I highly, Highly recommend. Awesome that it's in period accurate English. ★
  • Zombieland (2009) | Dir. Ruben Fleischer | Notes: So much fun, I was obsessed with this movie as a teenager.

Mystery & Thriller

  • Battle Royale (2000) | Dir. Kinji Fukasaku | Notes: The book is one of my favorite books and the movie is also quite good, I enjoy it a lot. ★
  • Donnie Darko (2001) | Dir. Richard Kelly | Notes: I love Donnie Darko ★
  • Fight Club (1999) | Dir. David Fincher | Notes: I'm transmasc, obviously I like Fight Club. ★
  • Parasite (2019) | Dir. Bong Joon Ho | Notes: Fantastic film, I think everybody should see this one. ★
  • Pulp Fiction (1994) | Dir. Quentin Tarantino | Notes: Fucking love Pulp Fiction ★
  • Silence of the Lambs (1991) | Dir. Jonathan Demme | Notes: My favorite film, period. ★
  • The Boondock Saints (1999) | Dir. Troy Duffy | Notes: Irish American culture. ★
  • The Conversation (1974) | Dir. Francis Ford Coppola | Notes: Watched this for a film class in high school and I think I was the only person who enjoyed it. ★

Science Fiction

  • Akira (1988) | Dir. Katsuhiro Otomo | Notes: I genuinely cannot recommend this film enough, I adore it. The animation is incredible. ★
  • A Trip to the Moon (1902) | Dir. Georges Melies | Notes: It's historically significant, everybody should see it. It is only 15 minutes long. ★
  • Gattaca (1997) | Dir. Andrew Niccol | Notes: N/A ★
