Day Twenty-One: Other Paths I've Explored
I've explored multiple religions and pagan paths, as well as reading about different forms of reconstructionist paganism. I typed quite a lot about my philosophy regarding reconstructionism, but it didn't actually answer the question. So, this is probably going to be short and kind of quick since I kind of fried my brain on my first answer lol.
I spent my preteen and teenage years as a Wiccan and/or an edgy Atheist. Trying to be Wiccan always felt kind of forced to me, but at the time, being a pagan and/or a witch just kind of meant being a Wiccan. Other traditions existed, but they were not nearly as accessible. The library and bookstores only had books on Wicca and Google searches brought up Wiccan websites. I knew about Druids, but the whole thing didn't seem to apply to me since I grew up in an urban area.
I spent a brief period while I was learning about non-Wiccan forms of paganism after high school as a more eclectic pagan/witch, but then I stumbled upon Hellenic and Kemetic pagan blogs and the rest is history. I'd like to say that I eventually settled on something, but I feel like my practice is always changing. What I'm doing depends on circumstance and the seaons. I am always devoted to Apollon though.
