Day Three: Deities

Like most pagans, I'm a polytheist. I believe in many, many gods who have influence over the world around us. I'm also specifically a hard polytheist and believe that all gods (with few exceptions) really exist and are not archetypes or manifestations of one all-powerful divinity/the God and Goddess. I think deities are the force that animates the universe.

I don't think the gods are all knowing or all powerful (at least not in the way the Christian God is), nor do I think every deity inherently cares about humanity and our well-being. Obviously, how each deity feels about humanity comes down to the specific deity. I think Hermes, for example, does just generally care about humanity. Some deities might prefer to only help their worshipers while others might help people unprompted.

I'm trying to avoid topics that I know will be covered further into the challenge, so I really don't know how to elaborate further on my deity beliefs, except maybe to talk about which deities I worship specifically (but in very little detail).

The deities I worship vary, but I am devoted to Apollon and have a close relationship with Skadi. I really only pray and offer to Skadi in the fall and winter though. Recently, I've been focused pretty heavily on the Morrigan and the Dagda. Odin is kind of an on-and-off one for me, along with Ares. I was offering a lot to Eir and Brighid during covid and Nemesis and the Morrigan after shit hit the fan at work. Hermes was a pretty heavy focus for me during times I was taking public transit constantly. Zeus gets some prayers from me when I'm feeling powerless about something happening where I live...I could go on and on. Some of these deities are deities I acknowledge often and have made an effort to build a relationship with (ie The Dagda, Odin) while others are deities I just pray and offer to when I need help (ie Nemesis).

I'm honestly not very satisfied with this answer either, so I might edit it sometime in the future.
