Elora
Elora is the name given to the Dungeons & Dragons homebrew campaign setting I've been building upon since around 2015.
"Elora" refers to the world at large. The world of Elora is home to several continents: Aelonara, Irkalla, Arcadia and the Silver Isle. The campaign(s) have all taken place on some version of the continent of Aelonara, with most campaigns I've (attempted) to run starting in the Varehan Empire. Here's a map of the world.
Aelonara is the main setting that I focus on. It is a continent that went through an event referred to as "The Cataclysm" and not much is known about the world's history prior to that event. There has been some attempt to reconstruct the history and cultures of the people prior, but to limited success. It is unknown to the people of Aelonara how widespread the Cataclysm actually was. The post-Catacylsm history has been going on for several thousand years.
Irkalla is an unexplored continent full of dense forests. Virtually nothing is known about Irkalla and, every time explorers leave Aelonara to survey their southern neighbors, the explorers are never heard from again.
Arcadia is also unexplored, but due to the ocean in the center of the continents being unpassable by traditional means rather than the land itself being hostile. The land itself might be hostile, but nobody from Aelonara has made it that far from the coastline of their own continent.
The Silver Isle is known to Aelonarans. The inhabitants of the Silver Isle recently invented air ships that were able to bypass the dangerous sailing conditions and made first contact with the people of the Erevan Dominion a little less than a year ago. They brought some interesting inventions with them that the magic academy in Erevan is studying intently. Goods from the Silver Isle are in high demand and there is a black market growing around the trading of firearms in particular.
