Day Two
Prompt: What’s the biggest error or mistake that you feel you’ve made when working magick?
I don't feel like I have any examples of significant mistakes I've made, at least as far as specifically magic goes. I've definitely had poor etiquette with spirit work before, due to lack of knowledge. I've had spells backfire or just not work, usually because I just wasn't specific enough or wasn't focused enough while working on them (ADHD can make stuff like that even more difficult than it already is). Nothing catastrophic though. Kind of the magic equivalent of accidentally knocking your drink over. Inconvenient, unpleasant, but not really that deep.
This can probably be attributed to the fact that I just don't do spellwork very often and I've always been pretty cautious about spirit work. I don't ward, but I picked up a lot of information about dealing with spirits of the dead over the years. Often, just firmly asking them to leave works well enough. Divination doesn't really have much risk involved, but my main tarot deck hates me (topic for later).
My biggest error as a pagan, as mentioned briefly on my page about Aphrodite, was offering her Dr Pepper. Though, that actually might have been surpassed recently when I was moving bowls around to different altars after buying a new one. I'm still apologizing for that one. Sometimes, the gods like things a certain way and you don't know that until you start messing around.
